Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take me to lose 20 pounds?
You can safely lose up to 2 pounds a week. Losing more than 2 pounds a week can
result in losing muscle mass or potentially damaging your internal organs. To ensure
that you are consuming the right amount of calories, setup an appointment to have
your nutritional needs analyzed. Also, get active by joining our boot camp program
or purchasing one of our personal training packages.
How often should I eat?
You should plan on eating a small meal every 3 hours. By eating small, frequent
meals, you are allowing your body to use the food more efficiently. Also, the steady
supply of calories reduces blood sugar spikes and maintains a constant glycemic
index.
How much water do I really need on a daily basis?
Studies show that you should drink approximately half of your body water in ounces.
For example, if you are 140 lbs, then you should drink about 70 ounces of water
per day.
Why am I not losing weight by running around the neighborhood?
It would appear that your body has adapted to running. If you do an exercise like
running on a regular basis, your muscles will become more and more efficient at
the activity over time. Your body is designed to learn activities and find ways
to make the process easier. Of course, if the activity becomes easier, your body
does not have to work as hard. Less work = less calories burned.
What is a boot camp?
Boot Camping is a muscle confusing cardio and resistance training workout that is
FUN for all. There are typically 10 to 12 stations. Each person spends 1 minute
on a station at a time. Take a minute break between sessions and repeat two times.
Total time spent working out is 30 to 36 minutes. Total calories spent is usually
600 to 1000 calories. Randy Wadley, BFB Owner and Personal Trainer,
presents an overview of a boot camp.
Can I do a boot camp workout if I am not in shape?
Yes. Our boot camps are tailored to individual needs. Each exercise can be made
easier or harder based on your fitness level. You will never feel over-exerted or
under challenged!
