Business Travel and Fitness

"I travel for business and can't seem to find the time to workout"

If this sounds like something you would say, you are not alone. Speaking from experience, it is very difficult, (BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE), to stay in a fitness/nutrition routine while you are traveling. Depending on where you go, you may spend over 12 hours on a plane. Yell

The good news: Society is starting to realize what an epidemic obesity is, therefore more healthy lifestyle choices are becoming available. Healthy foods are available, you just have to search a little harder.

One of the hard things about traveling is the after work "team building/networking" activities. You can easily participate in these activities without blowing a weeks worth of hard work in the gym. Go to the events, order water or some other type of drink that won't make you hate life in the morning, and get up early the next day and use the hotel gym. If you are staying at the Best Western because of company budget cuts, go for a run. Just DO something.

If you have a routine at home you owe it to yourself to have one when traveling. Make a travel routine that has some flexibility in it. Promise yourself you will get some cardio in and eat right. You will be much happier when you get home.
